My photographic style is Lifestyle Photography. According to Wikipedia, "Lifestyle photography is a kind of photography that mainly aims to capture portrait/people in situations, real-life events or milestones in an artistic manner and the art of the everyday".
Lifestyle photography typically captures the essence of humans and includes movement, loving gestures, and often environmental storytelling. To me, lifestyle photography is emotive, meaningful and mostly candid-like photography capturing feeling, real life emotion and connection between you and your family. It sits comfortably between traditional portraiture, which is posed, and documentary photography, which isn't posed at all.
No, I don't have an indoor studio as I am a natural light photographer. I do have a great outdoors studio behind me though where the light and setting is perfect 😉
Outdoors provides a relaxed, no fuss atmosphere and natural light produces great results.
Sessions in your home are also welcome and can have a more relaxed and comfortable feel.
Sessions can be held at your local park or in your home. As I am a natural light photographer, outdoor bookings will be taken during the Golden Hour. This is when the light is best and it's perfect for portraits. The Golden Hour times vary throughout the year depending on the season but typically it's just after sunrise and before sunset.
Newborn sessions are held in your home. Please contact me for more information.

Hard mid-morning to mid-afternoon sun is harsh and unflattering and I prefer to stay away from these times, however this time is good for in-home sessions.
Newborn sessions are best held mid-morning around 10am. Babies are less fussy in the morning and indoor natural light is prime.
My focus will be on you and your immediate family on the day. This is a special time for your family's connection without distractions. Grand-parents are most welcome to join in however, an extra fee will apply as these are longer sessions and require more time and editing work. If you have a large extended family, you can book the two-hour session.Pets are part of the family and are most welcome to join.
Images can be viewed at about four weeks after your session. I edit my own images and you can appreciate that this takes time. Once images have been edited, you will be provided with a link to a private photo gallery where you can view the images and share with your family and friends.
These images will be available for viewing for eight weeks before expiring and then will be taken down.
Yes! Lifestyle photography for newborns captures natural, authentic and real moments. I do not do unnatural poses and I believe that less is more. I don't use props but rather use what you have, eg. special heirloom, toys and favourite wraps or blankets. This adds authenticity to your photos.
I will come to your home for the session providing it has good natural light. It is best to book a session around 10am as babies are less fussy in the morning and natural light is prime. Please allow 3 hours for a Newborn session as babies are unpredictable. This will include feeding and settling time.
Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.
NB. I am a mother and a grandmother so you and your baby will be respected at all times. Safety is of the utmost importance. I am fully immunised against whooping cough, COVID-19 and Influenza.
I have over ten years of experience with Adobe Lightroom so all images are professionally edited by me. Being a minimalist photographer also makes me a minimalist editor so edits are minor.
I do not do extreme retouching or manipulate images, eg. removing double chins, slimming down or replacing backgrounds. I will however do minor retouching like skin blemishes and minor skin smoothing.
Nope! When you book with me, you're hiring me to take those raw files and spend countless hours turning them into a polished gallery. Also, my name is associated with my images, so they need to reflect my personal editing style.
Definitely! You can print them from any lab however to maintain quality I would recommend that you stay away from budget labs.
I partner with one of Australia's finest and oldest photo labs who use only archival quality inks and materials. Their prints are high quality and can't be compared with budget labs. For your convenience you can also purchase prints, canvases, frames, etc. from the client gallery.
I accept credit cards, direct deposit and cash. A deposit is payable at the time of booking to secure your date and time and the final payment is due the day before the session.
Yes. Please contact me for more details.
I like to add sneak peeks as well as a few final photos of your session on social media and my website, but only if you agree. I will ask you to complete a quick online Model Release Form.
If you are not comfortable with that then let me know and I will not post any of your photos online. It's your choice.
Yes but only on the proviso that you link my social media or website to the images.
Life happens, children get sick and things come up that are out of our control. Please give me at least one day's notice and your session can be rescheduled. Failure to do so will forfeit your deposit.
Naturally, weather plays an important role in outdoor photography so if the weather is unsuitable on the day, ie. raining, windy, heavy clouds, storms or just too plain hot, then we will have to reschedule as lighting will be affected as well as your comfort. Unfortunately, this can’t be helped so please be patient.
If the weather changes during the session then again we may have to reschedule. It's pointless taking photos in the wind and rain.
Yes my work is fully guaranteed. If you are not happy then I am not happy as the saying goes. Contact me within 7 days of receiving your gallery and I will give you a full refund.
